Last month Amazon had their Prime Day Preview and I picked up a three pack of those Fuel Rod portable batteries. You’ve seen their machines at the airport, or at one of the parks. They’re great for keeping your phone/datapad charged for whatever adventure you are on. If your battery runs out of juice, just go up to the machine and exchange it for a fully charged one!
So I figure this is a great shape and size to power my arm bracer project. Especially making it super easy to swap out batteries. So I start designing around the battery.

Then I see on Instagram that thatcornerincoruscant is making these cool Fuel Rod cases that you can clip on your belt or your bag. (check out his store, he makes some other cool stuff too)
I know, that when I’m out on adventure, I like something a little more sturdy and reliable. So I start designing a greeble to house the battery. No worries about the Fuel Rod falling out and getting lost. I can stow it in a pocket, bag, or bandolier. Speaking of which, as I’m designing my satchel, I’ll have two of these on the strap for the main flap conveniently close to the datapad pocket. Easy peasey charging!
See it in action!
